MTS Completes NetCracker Deployment in Moscow and Central Russia Regions

MTS acquired a 100% stake in Bashcell from Bashneft and local private companies for $38 million, a sum that includes the assumption of $32 million in debt. «The acquisition helps MTS to further solidify its leading position in Bashkortostan by increasing its market share to 39%.

MTS allocated frequencies to offer 3G products and services in Armenia

The Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia has allocated the frequencies to K-Telecom, MTS' 80%-owned subsidiary (K-Telecom was acquired by MTS in September 2007). These frequencies will allow MTS to offer high-speed mobile voice and data services throughout the territory of Armenia. The allocation is valid for a 10-year period.
