Amdocs Gets Ukrainian OSS Contract
Ukraine based Kyivstar has deployed OSS (operations support systems) solutions supplied by Amdocs. The company worked in partnership with Ukrainian system integrator, S&T Soft-Tronik Ukraine, on the deployment.
MTS Completes NetCracker Deployment in Moscow and Central Russia Regions
Mobile TeleSystems OJSC, the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, together with NetCracker Technology, announced today that they have completed the production deployment of the NetCracker solution in Moscow and Central Russia. The solution, based on the NetCracker product suite, will optimize infrastructure and inventory management processes and establish a central information source for the planning, design, and management of the MTS network.
Intec signs multimillion dollar group license and services agreement with VimpelCom Group subsidiaries
Intec, a global provider of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS), announced today that it has signed and implemented a group license and services agreement for its Intec Interconnect intercarrier billing solution with several VimpelCom subsidiaries. Valued at nearly US$2 million dollars, the new contract will enable Russia's major mobile operator to roll out Intec Interconnect throughout the CIS, with subsidiaries going live with the system by the end of this year in Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Armenia.
MTS acquires Bashcell
Mobile TeleSystems, the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, announces that it has acquired 100% of Bashcell, a mobile phone operator in Russia's Volga region. MTS acquired a 100% stake in Bashcell from Bashneft and local private companies for $38 million, a sum that includes the assumption of $32 million in debt. «The acquisition helps MTS to further solidify its leading position in Bashkortostan by increasing its market share to 39%.
MTS hits the top of National Purchases Transparency Rating 2007 as the mobile operator
The largest mobile operator in Russia and CIS Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (MTS) receives the highest grade in the National Purchases Transparency Rating, an annual rating organized by the National Association of Electronic Trade Participants and supported by the Federal Antitrust Agency and State Duma Counter Corruption Commission. The purpose of the rating is to evaluate the level of transparency and efficiency of the purchasing process of state, municipal, and corporate structures in Russia.
Comstar and Intel are going to build the first mobile WiMAX network in Russia
Comstar, Russian telecom operator, and Intel announced the agreement to create the first mobile WiMAX network in Russia. The first WiMAX network will be launched in Russian capital Moscow. The network will be operational by the end of 2008 and will cover the whole city. Intel will provide Comstar technical devices with embedded WiMAX solutions.
SMARTS Gets Smart With New Mobile Media Service for the Idle-screen
Russian operator SMARTS today announced the launch of a new interactive mobile media service, NewsCOM. The service will transform the mobile phone of SMARTS' three million subscribers into a personal interactive billboard to provide an exciting new content service to customers whilst raising ARPU for the operator. The service will promote new content available on NewsCOM information channels by broadcasting messages across subscribers' idle-screen.
RoamCell Service Available for SimSim Subscribers in Georgia and Russia
Azerbaijan, Baku - TrendCapital - Azercell Telecom continues to expand its roaming service coverage for its prepaid subscribers and postpaid subscribers. Now, the roaming service is available for SimSim subscribers in Georgia (Geocell) and Russia (Megafon). Mihail Fridman, the head of Alpha Group, kept 25% shares of mobile operator Megafon
Bermuda fund IPOC and Alpha Group came to an agreement to withdraw counter-claims concerning rights of possession for 25% of Megafon shares, the third largest mobile operator in Russia. Four-year conflict resulted in $20 mln legal fees for the both parties and Alpha Group kept the shares. Megafon was founded in 2002. 35,6% of its shares are owned by TeliaSonera, 25% plus one share by Alpha Group, 8% by IPOC and 31,3% by Telecominvest holding. In the first half of 2007 Megafon reached 14,39 bln. rubles (approximately $570 mln.) of net profit and revenue 63,6 bln.
