WapStart turnover increased 86% in 3Q09

Mobile ad network WapStart has announced its Q3 financial results revealing turnover sequential growth by 86%. The rise was caused by increase in advertisers' number, as well as ad network capacity growth.

During the third quarter 2009 number of advertisers in WapStart increased 88% in comparison with the second quarter. The number of ad campaigns grew even more – by 136%. Altogether these figures provided network revenue growth by 86%.

In 3Q 2009 WapStart served promotion campaigns for VimpelCom (which operates under the Beeline trademark), beer brewing company Baltika and Spasskie Vorota, and in September Nokia Ovi Store campaign rolled out. The share of brands spending in WapStart revenues is growing, though majority of advertisers are website owners and apps publishers.

In order to provide new advertisers with mobile data in 3Q 2009 WapStart network expanded the number of its partnering websites by 43%. Today WapStart combines more than 200 mobile websites. Network capacity during the quarter grew 50%. In September it exceeded 12 million ad impressions a day mark.
