Mobile ad network WapStart reports doubled mobile ads volume in 2Q09

In the second quarter 2009, the number of advertisers registered in mobile ad network WapStart Plus1 grew sequentially by 125%. The amount of ad campaigns in the network increased by 96%, ads – by 62%. WapStart network capacity in the analyzed period grew thrice, exceeding 8 million ads served each 24 hours in June. Today WapStart connects about 140 mobile partner sites, providing about 10 million ad impressions per 24 hours. As the company claims, WapStart is the largest mobile ad network in Russia.

Unlike Western markets, offline brands in Russia are still testing mobile ads with caution in spite of its evident advantages. Projects arranged on behalf of large brands in Russia are rare. In the first half of 2009, WapStart network rolled out ad campaigns for Sony Pictures, Nokia and SunInbev.
