Alexander Izosimov CEO of VimpelCom will step down in April; new CEO is Boris Nemsic
VimpelCom (which operates under Beeline trademark) announced today that Alexander Izosimov, CEO and General Director of VimpelCom, will step down on April 2, 2009. The board of Vimpelcom directors also announced that Boris Nemsic will become the CEO of VimpelCom and Alexander Torbakov will take the position of General Director of VimpelCom on April 2, 2009.
Boris Nemsic is currently the CEO of Telecom Austria Group, Austria's telecoms market leader in mobile and fixed telecommunications operating in eight countries.
Alexander Torbakhov is now General Director of Rosgosstrakh Life Insurance Company. Rosgosstrakh Insurance is Russia's largest insurance company.
The board of Vimpelcom directors has asked Alexander Izosimov to remain with the Company in a non-executive role as part of the management transition.
