MTS Launched Trial 3G Network in Krasnodar, Novorossijsk, Gelendzhik and Anapa
MTS announces the launch of pilot 3G networks in south Russia on January 22 in Krasnodar, Novorossijsk, Gelendzhik and Anapa. From 22th of January 2009 to 30th of April 2009, MTS subscribers, who take part in 3G services public testing, can get 1 Gb of 3G traffic and videocall service for free. Data transfer and video calls in 3G network are also free.
To date MTS 3G networks operate in six Russian federal districts – Far East, Siberia, Ural, Volga region, North-West region and in south region, as well as in Uzbekistan.
In all the regions where MTS 3G networks operate, growth rates of mobile internet traffic consumption have increased significantly. During six months (July –December 2008) MTS 3G traffic share grew by 50% in Web-traffic gross growth.
