  • Zed Acquired Stake in Russian Mobile Content Aggregator Temafon- Mobile content giant Zed has paid more than $5 million for a «50 percent plus 1» share in Temafon, a Russian mobile content aggregation service and part of Tema Mobile Media, according to Russian business newspaper Vedomosti, citing two unnamed sources «close to the deal». A Zed spokesperson confirmed the purchase but declined to disclose the financial terms of the acquisition. Temafon is the exclusive aggregator of Russian-based mobile content to Beeline, the carrier brand of VimpelCom, the country's second largest network, which owns an indirect minority share in the aggregator. The purchase strengthens Zed's position in the Russian mobile content market, where it already owns Infon, a local mobile content provider, through its acquisition of Monstemob.

  • Zed Russia and CLUB VOLVO help on road by SMS- Zed Russia (formerly known as INFON) and CLUB VOLVO introduce SMS-service which is said to help club members to communicate, get information and various contact data. The aim of the project is to create automatic information service which would allow users to communicate by SMS, for example, to inform club members about a traffic accident or car breakdown, etc. Also the service would help inform a large number of users about important events, accidents or danger in a timely manner. SMS-server processes user messages and makes from them packages of information, technical and friend support for further sending to club members' mobile phones.

  • Beeline: MTS spoils copyright holders- Being late with the launch of Ring Back Tone service, Vimpelcom intends to insist on changing the existing procedure of payment interaction with the given service copyright holders in favor of mobile operators. Megafon stays by Vimpelcom's side, while MTS is against any changes. If the operators do not manage to agree upon the RBT unified format, then, according to experts, the given service promotion in Russia might suffer.
