Out There Media and Vimpelcom join forces for Mobile Advertising in Russia

Out There Media announces the signing of a partnership agreement with VimpelCom (which operates under the Beeline trademark). Within the framework of the agreement, Out There Media enables VimpelCom to offer targeted Mobile Advertising through Mobucks™, its multi-channel Mobile Advertising marketplace technology. In addition, Out There Media is also responsible for monetization, sales, business development and operations support.

The activity of BAMBOO GROUP rendering innovative services in VAS market and mobile marketing field was extremely efficient. To compare with 2008 the amount of obtained profit doubled. New promising directions were discovered, the number of business partners rose.

BAMBOO GROUP in European markets

In the year 2009 BAMBOO GROUP in Belarus (STREAMLINE) continued to hold major positions keeping more than 50% of additional services market for itself. To compare with the previous year the amount of company’s profit has risen for more than 70%, ARPU year growth made up 9%. Last year STREAMLINE’s services were used by more than 2 mln. of unique users that is equal to 22% of all mobile subscribers of the Republic of Belarus.

Majesty for iPad is being crafted by HeroCraft

Russian mobile game developer and publisher HeroСraft announced that 'Majesty', licensed by Paradox Interactive, will be their first iPad game release running in the full iPad resolution. The popular PC strategy title will be available on Java, Android and BlackBerry handsets first and follow on Apple's new flagship product soon after.

“We're impressed by the new Apple tablet device” said Alexey Sazonov, Sales and Marketing Director at HeroCraft, “we believe it will provide the ideal platform for gaming, filling the gap between traditional desktop and mobile phone devices.

Yota Deployed Mobile WiMAX in Nicaragua

Russian WiMAX network operator Yota has announced the test run of the mobile broadband 4th-generation Internet access network in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. The Yota network was rolled out in record time — in three months since the beginning of construction.

During the press conference attended by representatives of WiMAX Forum, Intel and Samsung, the strategic partners of Yota, journalists were told about the project and its perspectives in details. Ricardo Olarte, Northern Cone General Manager of Intel, said that «the broadband penetration in Latin America is very low, and is the reason why the initiative taken by Nicaragua will allow a significant leap in the adoption of new technologies placing the country at the forefront and generating a positive effect in people and businesses to improve the competitiveness of it».

MTS amends EUR 300 million credit facility

MTS, the largest cellular network operator in Russia and CIS, announces that it has successfully renegotiated the terms of the EUR 300 million credit facility from Gazprombank as part of the Company's efforts to reduce the interest rates of its debt portfolio.

MTS initially entered the credit agreement with Gazprombank in late December 2008. Under the terms of the agreement, the Company was to pay an annual interest rate of 12%. As the result of negotiations, the interest rate has been decreased to 8%. The maturity of the facility has been extended by more than a year from June 2011 to September 2012. MTS has already paid down EUR 50 million of the original facility.

TOP 10 Russian content-providers for 3Q 2009 – MTS rating

MTS, the largest cellular network operator in Russia and CIS, has resumed publication of its content-providers ratings and published the rating of content-providers for third quarter of 2009. Top 5 companies in the rating are A1, IncoreMedia, Inform-Mobil, i-Free, and Neva Line.

In its ratings MTS takes into account the income its partners get from offering their content-services to MTS subscribers. The presented rating should help in informing about situation in content services market and current position of largest Russian content-providers.

MTS rolls out mobile video service Smotri Online on its WAP portal

MTS, the largest cellular network operator in Russia and CIS, has announced the launch of special section on its WAP portal wap.mts.ru dubbed MTS Smotri Online (means « Watch Online» in Russian), which can be used not only for downloading video content but also for watching online video without downloading the content on mobile phone.

Smotri Online is a new section on WAP portal of the carrier, developed together with Next Media Group based on Amfora's hardware platform. The section will substitute all current video service on portal. Smotri Online offers wide range of videos in different genres including music clips, comedy shows, popular cartoon episodes, movies, sport broadcasts and user-generated video.

TELE2 Russia announced 3Q09 results

TELE2 Russia announced its consolidated results for the third quarter and 9 months of 2009 in Russia and plans for further development of these operations.

During Q3 2009 TELE2 Russia continued with its strategy of improving the operational contribution of its 17 mature regions to support the roll-out of commercial networks in its 20 new regions. In the quarter, 7 of the new regions were commercially launched: Bryansk, Novosibirsk, Tula, Tambov, Tver, Orel Regions and Adygei Republic. The market's response has been better than expected compared to the business plan.
